    @ Soul Doctor ^^

400 years under the spanish rule did have its ill effects on us, even up to this day. I too have a spanish sounding name, but that is about it. My grandfather did have his part in history as a true filipino patriot and I am proud of that. I am proud too that I try hard not be be a crab.

"its the way they were brought up.
kasagaran man gud mga spanish families,
very strict and very critical with their children
this results into a negative attitude like crab mentality.
they grow up insecure , so to compensate that they pull other people down."

It is unfortunate then that the elite of our nation may have been influenced by their spanish upbringing so much so that they may have never given any chance for ordinary 'indios' to move up and become prosperous. Up until now, the rich in our midst are obviously from spanish lineage, agree? And up until now, the saying that 'the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer' is still true..

I think you're more like a hermit then.. That is still better than being out of your room and then pulling people down, right?

I got this info from wikipedia "Crab mentality, sometimes referred to as crabs in the bucket, describes a way of thinking best described by the phrase "if I can't have it, neither can you.""

I do not think I am like that. Masuya tingali ko pero not to the extent nga I will do something para ma down ang usa ka tao. So I am not a crab, Im only human

I hope they don't hurt you when they step on you. Wouldn't 'push up' be a better term?
