Whoah! it took you about five months to consume 10k shutter actuations. My two-year-old D80 camera is at the 9k mark pa.

Btw, depende ra jud na unsaon nimo paggamit. When I take photos, I treat my camera like a Film system, so picky ko kun unsa ako pictyuran.

if they successfully make the shutter as electronic instead of being mechanical, mas mu last gyud na sya.

but who wants to make a product that lasts forever?

    it's business...

maau rmn pd nang naai limit imong shutter. it gives u time to upgrade. pero kng inyong concern nga wala nai ika-upgrade aw, lahi npud nang topic.

mao btaw naai entry level SLRs. and beside 3-5 yrs using ur cam sure ko daghan nsd nag abog/cosmetic wear etc. ur SLR served u and i think nalingaw nka anang mga time. naa mn gyd cgro time to partways 5 or so years aint that bad. that's how i see my own cam nga entry level. mine turned 2 last march hapit na 9K. by the time cgro maabot nig 100k i'm all for upgrading it in 3-5 years. igo pd ma improved ko nya basin kanang mga Full Frame naa nai pang masa nga price. jst my 2cents.

shutter count is like the mileage of your car. kung ma reach na ang max limit it's either replace the shutter(sa service center rani mahitabo) or buy nalang bag-o because 2-3 years from now, phased out na imong dslr. ing ana ka pas2x ang development sa camera technology karon.

tungod pud cguro kay grabe kadaghan sa competetors karon. sony,canon,nikon,ricoh,sigma,fuji,kodak,samsung... .blah2x hala pun i pa. hehehe

Just a tip from a friend of mine nga ako sad gisuksuk sa akong huna huna.
One way of taking care of your camera and shutter blabla.

As much as possible avoid continuous shooting, I'm not saying that ayaw gyud pag gamit ug CS kay usahay needed ra ba na especially (insert instances here), pero i limit lang and not all the time ka nga sige nalang og gamit ana kay it may trigger your camera especially the shutter bla bla.
Avoid using super fast shutter speeds (example 1/500 and above), I'm not saying nasad nga ayaw pag lapas sa 1/500 nga shutter speed kay usahay kinahanglan baya gyud especially (insert instances here), pero as much as possible kay mao to siya i lower kay whenever shutter is fired labi na paspas kalit pod ra ba na ug kana sang mga continuous shooting kay sunod sunod ang clicks. (never mind lol)

    Just saying.

naay technology ang sony ani sa A55 nga model (and others). semi-translucent ang mirror. in this case, instead of mag-swing2x ang mirror, mo allow na xa nga light to pass through which results to amazing fps. (more here: Sony SLT-A55 Review: 2. What's new: Digital Photography Review)

pero sadly, maka-affect ang semi-translucent mirror sa quantity of light mga mo-igo sa sensor, as tested by kai wong (video: Sony Alpha SLT-A77 Hands-on Review - YouTube).
