Mathematics itself is amazing..and fun too..here's one, the no.9 [posted this already on another thread but WTH]

the number 9...the highest single digit number..
also, 9 has this unique property of "showing" up unexpectedly..hehehe

9 multiplied to any number, the sum of the answer would still be 9..

WTH..an example would explain..

9 x 1 = 9
9 x 6 = 54, 5 + 4 = 9
9 x 17 = 153, 1 + 5 + 3 = 9
9 x 84 = 756, 7 + 5 + 6 = 18, 1 + 8 = 9

don't know 'bout you, it may seem senseless to others but it amazes me..that's what MATH is to me..

How can you answer if the question is 53 to the power of 2 or 53 squared, without using a calculator?
Here's the trick...
Q: 53 to the power of 2 (i don't know how to write the square here!!!)
Step 1: You can apply this if and only if the question is squaring in 50s
Step 2: Square the 5 and the answer is 25
Step 3: Add 25 to the ones digit w/c is 3 and the answer is = 28
Step 4: Square the ones digit (the square of 3 is 9) = 9
Step 5: Put them all together and be sure it must be four numbers so the answer is "2809"
Answer: 56 square = 2809

Now try this number: 58 square?
