Ok thanks, a follow-up question then, now that I've read your response in post #17.

If, as you said, pain's function is to aid survival, and thus prolong life, why do certain doses of pain cause unconsciousness? For if someone is experiencing pain (as a reminder/check so that the person will try to find a means to know what's causing the pain and thus fix the problem), isn't an increase in the amount of pain an indicator of "more attention" to that said problem of the body, but if the person loses consciousness because of that pain, then murag useless na nuon ang pain at that point, kay nakuyapan naman siya so dili na niya mapangitaan ug pamaagi nga ma solve iyang pain, and thus dili na nuon siya maka-survive. Did nature make a mistake in allowing creatures in pain to lose consciousness due to pain?

i only know whats the purpose of pain.
i cant answer your followup question because there is not much data given. and its all supposition.
a doctor can not diagnose an illness if he doesn't have enough information from the patient.

I'm actually quite satisfied with your answer. I was trying to figure out the answer myself while I was lying in bed last night, but dozed off before I could really think more about it, probably due to the fact that, yes as you said, there's not much data on the subject yet. Could be a good research paper topic (example title, "Pain Thresholds in Living Things and Their Effects on Survivability").

Nobody is trying to draw anyone off-topic. In fact, my question was well within the topic itself, which is to ask you ANY questions about life. Isn't the 9/11 families and victims, and the events that occurred during that day, part of our "life" and history?

The question has no malice whatsoever. Considering your "knowledge" about the "facts" of 9/11, I'm really curious as to what sort of message you can give these survivors/families in case you meet them someday. Otherwise why open this thread when you can't even answer all of the questions presented?
