I think theres a law regarding how to raise or slaughter these livestock.
Siguro makakita kag murag abusive na kaayo kay ang uban man gud gusto nga mudako ila profit mao nga wala nay standard ang tangkal og ang pagmonitor kung giunsa pag ihaw. All livestock will scream except for the sheep when they are slaughtered.
regarding with your suggestion "why not go all out for all animals", I think its very difficult to establish proper way of killing these livestock without being maltreated. killing or slaughtering them is already considered not treating them well.

I think bawal sa pag-ihaw nga mugamit og kuryente og pagbunal sa agtang sa baka/kabaw og maso para makuyapan or malamba dayon ihawon.

here in US the way they do it, they have something like a gun that they shoot the pig,cow and other in the head

High quality breeder hogs cost that much, and it is also probably easy to make dog or cat farms if you are into eating them. I don't think it is the price nor the inability to reproduce large amounts of these pets that is stopping us from making them a delicacy.

when we breed those high quality hogs and the supply gets larger, it becomes cheaper. just like the dogs, if we breed so many chow chows eventually ang price niya would be very affordable.

on the contrary, if we have feeds made for "livestock" dogs then we would get feasible amounts of meat from them.

all of the situations i have given are possible, so i don't think abundance, meat, nor the price are the factors stopping us from eating them.

its just about price ... naa dogs that even cost lest then 1K.... i think he TS point is about animal cruelty...even way way back dogs and cats were never been breed for food even do people ate them....even though this happen that a man and his pet dog was lost in a forest somewhere in latin america he's been in that forest for more than a month and in order to survive he ate his pet..... but yet i know if he can survive without eating his pet he's gonna do that....so my point is even a pet is edible but pet between food is way different...
