Well for a 2,000 or less PSU we cant expect all safety features. Maybe if they priced this at 1,200~1,300 it would be a good deal.

well barato ra kaayo na ang MOV...
Of course not, its the same reason why you cant get a decent PSU under 3,000 these days.
if 500-600Watts lang a2 hisgotan there are few PSU's below 3k worth buying..
For the Price of Php 3,350 (500watts)... It's not the best PSU in the globe (obviously), but I'd say it's one of the better options in the price range. This is aimed at mainstream users and not at real hard-core enthusiasts, who are not willing to shell out more for a highly efficient PSU.. hence, why it was given the Gold Award by HS.Although the perfectionist user may complain about little things here and there (absence of an MOV, cable configuration, voltage regulation could be a little bit better, noise and ripple could be a lot better, efficiency at full load could be a tiny bit better), we think this unit is perfect for the mainstream user who wants to go to the next level in terms of efficiency.
From Hardware Secrets Review
Overall, I still think this is certainly a good buy. I'd buy one if I'll ever need a new PSU for a rig. Comparing to other PSUs in the same price range, this undoubtedly is the practical choice.
Just my 2 cents.

I was reading through Tom's Hardware Articles a few days back and I found this might be something useful.
TH tested 4 Top Performing PSUs with 80+ Gold Certs..
- SilverStone Strider Gold SST-ST75F-G
- FSP Aurum Series AU-700
- Antec HCP-850
- Seasonic X-760
80 PLUS Gold: Four Efficient 700-850 W Power Supplies : 80 PLUS Gold Versus Mass-Produced Generics
Even with some minor drawbacks, I'd say the Aurum PSU series performed exceptionally well (once compared with more expensive counterparts). For the price (Php 4,550 locally), I think FSP really hit the right buttons for the mainstream market in this model.
