wow! teeth topic! i have one Q. doc whats that power in sivery pack, that u used after having cleaning session? is that a teeth whitener? can I used that as my every day paste? where can I buy ? thanks

Kanang, naglibog ko sa mga words imung gegamit into a sentence. Sorry as in nag libog gyud ko sa imung question. Anyway, ako nalang e try ug tubag ug sabot imung question. The "paste" we use after cleaning is actually "prophy paste." It is thesame as toothpaste but with powder or murag sand which somehow cleans up and removes debris and plaques on your smooth surface areas when used with a rotary brush.

It is NOT advisable sad to USE it daily because that would somehow cause TOOTH ABRASION which somehow thins out your ENAMEL thereby later on makes your teeth much more sensitive than before.

NOTE: As with the home made whitening, use it once a week only or once every 2 weeks. Dili maayo e EVERYDAY!

I really don't know why like that nga murag in a way discrimination but then again, ni school mi (dentist's), nag clinic duty sad mi and ni pasar sad mi board exam and that's it. Doctors sad jud mi and if we wanna specialize like orthodontics, mu skwela sad mi ana. The only difference is mas concentrate mi sa HEAD AND NECK AREA specifically sa ORAL CAVITY while they know everything from top to bottom with additional schooling depending on the specialty they wanna get into.

I guess for those who don't consider us dentists as DOCTORS, I guess they have a problem with what dentists earn or insecure lang sila sa ilang self. Either way, that is a bad thing. Ngano manghilabot man ka ug lain na tao or lain na profession without any valid reason to? Di ba? And besides, we treat, they treat, patas ra man. Lahi lahi lang ug scope sa service.

Pero mind you and FYI, mas grabeh ka mahal or dako ug gasto ang DENTIST. A dental chair could cost PHP 40k +, plus the hand instruments used, plus autoclaving machine to sterilize instruments used on patients, etc. Mga cguro if mag tukod kag own clinic, if you do not own the place, mag invest gyud kag PHP 1 million more or less. While ang Medical Doctor is only a stethoscope or plus ang stuff or instruments they need for their specialty. But more or less if general practitioner ra, stethoscope ra and sphygmomanometer. Hheheh

Yes, because I treat people and alleviate their symptoms according to the knowledge I have with Dentistry.

Hehhehe gosh! We do not have Nitrous oxide here in our clinic. But if I'm gonna put up my own clinic, I guess I will have one of those! ehhehe

Cooking sad if mu wingig akong utok into wanting to cook. Pasta is my specialty and I love experimenting or making new dishes out of the culinary TV shows I see. hehehe

2. What was the worst thing you did sa imong trabaho?

Uhm, not really na ma consider nako na worst thing noh kay all I did was help the kid. But the entire scenario was in a way excruciating not nga sakit tanawun but sakit akong dunggan kay ang bata akong ge ibtan ug ngipon nag cge ug shyagit ug,

"MAMAAAAAAAA MAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DI NA KO! ULI NATA!"

And she was doing that even if nahurot na nako ug inject and 1 carpule of lidocaine anesthetic. Hheeheh Drama ra niya kay na baguhan! hehehe

Another thing was something about PUS, ABSCESS or NANA! When I injected local anesthetic on thesame kid (but she was already on 1 week antibiotic therapy from her previous extraction), ang nana nang gawas when I injected the anesthtic. As in YELLOW ALL OVER the saliva. And when I extracted the tooth, sayun nalang kaayo kay humok naman sya then na hallow na underneath ang bone so wala nay bone nag gunit sa teeth.

3. Did you have problems balancing your responsibilities as a dentist and as a mom & wife to your family?

LOTS AND LOTS! Everything has been a challenge. You know the feeling that you wanna stay home to be the one to take care of your kid
PLUS you need to work to earn money to provide for your kid,
PLUS everybody around you thinks you are not doing anything or is lazy even if kulang nalang kung pwede imu na e baligya imung lawas para easy money,
PLUS everybody demands something from you and in the long run wala nay mahamilin na time even for just yourself because
SOMEBODY would say na unsa ka nga pagka inahana kung imung ebilin imung anak ug bana sa haus ra (And to think dugay naka wala ka laag even just a little time to unwind and spend with friends!)

kana, round that all up, dili ba ka ma buang! And it so saddens me that despite all my efforts to stay afloat, the only person I see that appreciates what I do is somebody who cannot even talk yet!

4. How did your profession changed you?

Much to the point that I am very keen at teaching my kid already good oral hygiene at 6 months! heheheh

Most kids tend to just EAT their toothbrush and toothpaste. But if you BRUSH your teeth together with them, later on, they know how to do it na! Right now at 2 years old, she already knows hot to brush her teeth left to right and up and down. She also already knows how to SPIT after taking in water although not all the time kay mu simang gyud gehapon ug tulon! And the last time we were at Ayala grocery, I bought her a new Dora The Explorer toothpaste with BOOTS on the cartoon package and gave it to her. She ended up opening the package and eating some toothpaste. Whew! Maayo gani akong nabantayan! When I took it out of her hand she went loco and said, "Bwash teeth! Mommy no, no, no! Bwash teeth!"

hehhehe kahibaw gyud intawn siya unsay gamit and she really goes crazy when it is brush time! ehhehe

5. Do you have any plans adding ahhh... children? ahaha

Yup! Maybe 1 more baby boy would do! Hheheheh Depende sa earnings ni mommy ug daddy ang addition! Hehehhe

Anyway, if mgpa cleaning ka, base price PHP 500 depende on the severity of your hugawness sa imung ngiponess! hehehehe

Daghan man! Heheh sauna when I was still single kay go out and hook up with a cute guy! JOKE! hahahha Btaw seriously, sauna mag tagay mi sa akong barkada with matching videoke sa dagat or just simply clubbing. But right now, just hanging out with my dear close friends, have dinner, chika and coffee maybe! I just had one last Thursday sa ayala Oh George! ehehhe

-what can you say about how other countries care about their teeth compared to us?
Actually, proven na gyud na na limpyado mga pinoy! Pwera nalang sa mga dili kaayo educated na tao or not educated at all kay wala gyud silay pake sa oral hygiene. Then in a way, medyo late sad ta like in terms of the fluoridation of our water supply which is like lisod pa since not all people have access to an MCWD connection.

FYI: We don't have MCWD or don't use MCWD here in our place! Our water is actually underground water.

Ka funny ba nimo ug question uy! heheh anyway, ang una gyud nako sabunon permi is my arms and back then front! Usahay mao ra na ug dili nako mu abot pa sa akong legs or downward since ang sabon and shampoo ni agi na dinha dapita! ehehhe
