Balls and Parade

With annual “balling time of year” forthcoming the next few days, I delegate to waste no time doing stuffs adverse to my skinny-built body. It has been my only… only gizmo. I don’t want it brittle and unready. Compulsorily, I have to make myself stiff, stable and sturdy physically.
Now I have less than a week to keep myself fit and muscle-toned, do some fitness plan and jog thrice a week. I can’t get enough. For banging bodies in mid-air could be hazardous circus act; with no foul-call from a ref I surely wouldn’t overreact.
Tip-off’s on June 21, 28 and July 4 of the three ballin’ tournaments, different locations, town, barrio and sitio respectively. I wonder how game schedules would overlap as each tournament progresses, the probabilities is more often than not, certain. It happened before. It made our basketball-life miserable.
Last year, we had this very tough time dealing with conflicts of games calendar. The team had been scheduled to play for three competitions mentioned, simultaneous, exactly the same time and same date. Grrrr!… No choice but to drop those two game schedules in order to engage on the schedule of the specific tournament that could favor our team the most. The one we have good chance of advancing to the next round.
Perhaps we could have split the team into two, by eight and by seven to be able to play on two venues. But hey, we’re a team of fifteen man! We won’t divide. We live and die together. We’ll stick till the last dribbles and bounces of clashes. Also, we only had one coach and we can’t split his body up either. Hahaha… let’s not laugh in unison, I’m serious and you’re not.
Not in a literal way, the concept would be “You can’t keep two or three good things in life at the same time.” Stick to what suits you the best. But people believe that- that is something you can’t apply in the world of basketball.
If you’d ask me how I’d feel about these coming basketball tournaments, I’ll tell you then, “I’m as excited as hell!” This is the kind of game we always love to play a married or single person could take pleasure in without pay. Why? Coz we meet new friends everyday, along the way.
Too bad I’m answering my own query.
My newly written blog is dedicated to Louella “Ellah” Bacalla, a friend whom you can sit beside when the world comes down.
