      Globe Media Excellence Awards @10:
Celebrating a decade of excellent storytelling

The Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA) has served as a powerful platform for thousands of stories in the past nine years, recognizing original and outstanding work by media practitioners from different parts of Visayas and Mindanao.

As it turns 10, the longest-running media awards in Visayas and Mindanao marks this important milestone by celebrating innovations that uplift lives with compassion, care, and kindness under the #OneDigitalNation theme. GMEA is part of Globe’s long-standing commitment to using technology for the common good and promoting responsible digital citizenship.

“Powered by innovations from Globe, the media delivers a message of hope for a future we can be proud of. Every effort towards uplifting the lives of Filipinos in fintech, health tech, ICT, ad tech, e-commerce, and other digital solutions deserves to be told. These stories should be celebrated,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.

Globe plays an active role in community development by using people and technology as catalysts of positive change. Stories of societal impact show how ideas can transform communities.

GMEA entries are anchored on Globe’s three sustainability pillars: Digital Nation, Care for People and Care for the Environment.

Digital Nation highlights how digital technology has evolved and its impact on the lives of Filipinos. Care for People is centered on mindfulness and providing a positive societal impact. Meanwhile, Care for the Environment focuses on building a greener world and contributing to environmental sustainability using technology.

Digital, Print and Online, Broadcast, and Special Awards are the four GMEA categories this year. In adapting to digital technology, GMEA encourages more digitized news outfits to participate. Therefore, digital radio, digital TV, tele-radio, and other hybrid news formats are welcome to submit entries.

It will also showcase various pocket events and programs to foster industry learning, impactful collaborations, and significant advocacies.

After its successful pilot last year, there will also be another GMEA Media Learning Series round. In addition, GMEA also supports Globe’s unified fight against involuntary hunger, the Hapag Movement, which leverages technology to create social impact at scale collectively. Together with its key mobilization partners Ayala Foundation, Caritas Philippines, Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines, and World Vision Development Foundation, Inc., the program addresses involuntary hunger by providing supplemental feeding and helping create sustainable livelihood opportunities for needy families.

Course the donations through the GlobeOne app/Globe Rewards, GCash, or via credit card on the Globe website.

Submission of entries for GMEA@10 is until the end of November 2022. More details at https://glbe.co/gmea.
