Bavarian Oktoberfest at Crimson Resort

For most people, October is but another set of 30 days to count before the most awaited Christmas season starts. But for people who are fond of merry-making and social gatherings, it is a hugely anticipated time for hearty indulgence of beer, German cuisine, and live music.


Last October 14, beer lovers gathered at the beachfront of the Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan for a night of sheer merry-making to celebrate this year’s Oktoberfest. Maintaining its streak for four years now, Oktoberfest 2017 had once again lived up to its reputation for being the grandest beer party in Mactan.

Revelers enjoyed a night of overflowing Bavarian beers while singing and dancing to familiar beats rendered by the Bavarian Sound Express Band who came all the way from Munich.

Beer-drinking and stein hoisting competitions were also staged to determine the best ale drinkers among the fun-loving men and women who graced the festivity. Halfway through the night, the Bavarian Sound Express led the crowd to dance the “Das Fliegerlied” (The Aviator Song), a popular Oktoberfest anthem which is sung every year as a way of pledging allegiance to the enjoyment of the beer fest.

All in all, Oktoberfest 2017 had been a pleasure to both Germans and Cebuanos who have always been united by the annual beer celebration.
