CakesbyKerri started in 2005 when owner Kerri Gail Ong decided to come back to the Philippines to specialize in custom made wedding cakes and themed cakes. She achieved her Diploma in Baking and Pastry from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and gained several work experiences from world renowned chefs of top restaurants and hotels in the United States. To enhance her cake decorating skills, she attended several Wilton Cake Decorating classes as well.

For every client, she makes it to a point that she meets with them personally to discuss their ideas regarding the cakes. As Kerri would always say " There must be a certain degree of personalization so as to make each cake memorable and unique".
