Linux and Windows ang pinaka sikat.. both have their pros and cons. So I can say they are both needed in the industry.. There's no best OS in my opinion co'z they are all not perfect.. They are in the state of balance.

shadowkenshin is ryt... no best OS ever...

linux has not much of a problem with network as far as i know, but it has some issues on its user authentication...

windows, however, is a high-priced software that may cripple your stash because of purchasing it... well, it does have a more stable system and a lot of updates if bugs may appear....

id go for those two... it mostly depends upon your need in your network... windows may have something linux didn't have, and vice versa....
