Posting benchmarks for a similar system using intel processors would be a good selling point for the "fastest" server

ok.. well, its not just Sun Microsystems is carrying amd processors but also their very own SPARC Processors, which i think even the 2 leading processor companies (intel and amd) are not even worth comparing to. Anyways, ill post some benchmark for AMD and Intel..

If im not mistaken SPARC processors are not multipurpose right, they only run on a limited number of codes that is built for them.. unlike the x86 platform that AMD/Intel has to offer.

yah somewhat it is proprietary ,SPARC machines have generally used Sun's SunOS or Solaris Operating Systems, but other operating systems it can NEXTSTEP, RTEMS, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, and Linux.

but it in the contrary, is it running under the most stable and efficient OS's.
