    covers your cellphone against ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE and LOSS due to
    snatching, hold-up, robbery, slashing or any event wherein the phone is taken by actual or threatened force.

    eg. if a big ugly guy comes up to you and ask for your cellphone (and you feel threatened) hand over your phone dont risk your life and this is covered by the insurance.

    for higher-end models, its only 700pesos and thats good for 180 days.
    100 and 350pesos insurance coverage are also available for lower end units.

    when you claim insurance, you wont get cash...instead you get replaced with a brand new unit (even if your unit is fake/recon/secondhand).
    yes you can get the new unit from GIZMO (brand new with full 1yr warranty) para sure ka what your getting

    stole...ipa blater...security report, police report, incident report...any documentation would be good...

    accidental damage...example you are walking by the poolside at the waterfront...some kids running around and knock you in the pool or say you "slipped" into the pool coz of the wet floor (hahaha) with cellphone in your pocket...pwedi yan...

    but say you know you have the phone in ur pocket and someone jokingly dare you to jump into the pool and you jump in then syempre thats not covered by insurance...honestly discrate nana ninyo...like with all insurance claim...

    nindot ni nga idea, pero unsaon pag kuha ug blotter ani? i no it sounds rude pero based on the documents required, basin mag lisod ta ug pangayo bah... pero nindot ni nga idea oi... secured imong huna2x bah kung dili lang ka mag tinanga....

    how bout sa low end? unsa nang 100 and 350? asa na mg base?

    On December 1, 2003, the eStandard Insurance Corporation was formed when Standard Insurance Co., Inc. purchased 100% of Zurich General Insurance Phils, Inc. (a member company of the Zurich Financial Services, Switzerland).
    The eStandard Insurance Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Standard Insurance Co., Inc. Its main line of business is providing insurance to the public using non-traditional channels.
    The first product of eStandard Insurance which has been made available in partnership with Globe Telecoms, Smart Communications, Equitable-PCI Bank and Metrobank is TXT2PROTECT eStandard Cellular Phone Insurance, the first of its kind in the Philippines. TXT2PROTECT eStandard Cellular Phone Insurance is a Replacement Cost Policy which protects cellphone owners against loss and accidental damage of their mobile devices.
    As TXT2PROTECT eStandard Cellular Phone Insurance sets foot in the market on August 8, 2004 (8/8/04), the 26 million cellular phone owners all over the Philippines get the first taste of how eStandard starts an Insurance Evolution.

    Cellular Phone Insurance Terms & Conditions

    * COVERAGE
    In consideration of the payment of premium, eStandard Insurance Corp ("the Insurer") shall indemnify you against loss and accidental damage of your cellular people unit within the Philippines which may occur within a period of one (1) year beginning at 3:00 PM on the date of premium payment. This policy is a replacement cost policy and is not transferable.

    * MAXIMUM LIABILITY
    The maximum liability of the Insurer shall be limited to the replacement of the cellular phone unit with the same brand and model. In case of unavailability, a different model with an equivalent value, at the time of the claim of the same brand shall be provided.

    * DEDUCTIBLE
    o The deductible for each accidental damage claim shall be the first Ps 300 or 5% of the current fair market value of the replacement unit whichever is greater; and

    o The deductible for total damage and loss claim shall be the first Ps 1,000 or 25% of the current fair market value of the replacement unit whichever is greater.
    * EXCLUSIONS
    Insurer will not be liable in respect of:
    o Loss
    + Loss not reported to the police within 24 hours from the time of loss; and claims report form not filed with the Insurer within two (2) days from the date of loss by the insured.
    + Loss of the cellular phone unit left unattended except in securely locked premises or vehicle and there is evidence of physical damage to the vehicle or premises as a result of forcible entry;
    + Loss of the cellular phone unit whilst in or on any form of public conveyance or public place unless the cellular phone unit is taken from client by actual or threatened force;
    + Loss of the cellular phone unit from any open type vehicle such as jeepney, owner type vehicle and the like.
    + Unexplained loss or mysterious disappearance of the cellular phone unit wherein the loss could not be sufficiently established;
    + Loss by third party. Third party shall mean any person other than the parties to the contact.
    + Loss within deductible.

    o Damage caused by or attributable to the following:
    + Any process of cleaning, servicing, maintenance, adjustment or repair including water damage;
    + Any claim arising from abuse or misuse;
    + Wear and tear or gradual deterioration of the cellular phone unit's performance;
    + Mechanical and electrical breakdown or malfunction without accident;
    + Damage to or malfunction of the cellular phone unit caused by or attributed to the operation of a software virus or any other software based malfunction;
    + The cost of repairs to interior or exterior paintwork caused by scratching or chipping of paintwork or polished surfaces.
    + Any cost or charges for which the manufacturer, supplier or distributor are liable in accordance with their standard warranty obligations.

    o Fraud
    + Insurer reserves the right to refuse the coverage of a particular unit or nullify this policy in case of fraud or any attempt thereat.
    + Misrepresentation, concealment or nondisclosure of facts shall be a cause for voiding the insurance coverage at the option of the insurer.

    o Loss or Damage due to war risks, rebellion, radioactive, toxic, explosive components, nuclear radiation and fortuitous events;

    o Loss or Damage to SIM Card, external antennae, battery, casing, charger, external camera and all other accessories.
    * GENERAL CONDITIONS
    The insured must take all reasonable steps to safeguard the insured's property and to avoid accidents which may lead to damage or loss.

    * CLAIMS
    In the event of any incident which may give rise to a claim, the client can only file through the Insurer's "Service Centers" and "Branch Office" and must:

    o Take all necessary steps within his power to minimize the extent of loss
    o Notify police authorities nearest the place of the loss and obtain police report.
    o Immediately notify without delay either the Insurer's Head Office or any of the Branch and servicing outlets.
    o Furnish the insurer with the following within 10 days.
    + Damage Claim:
    # Proper Identifications
    # Bring the damage unit
    # Payment Slip and/or Official Receipt
    # Accomplish Claims Report Form
    # Any requested documentation to support the claim.
    + Loss Claim:
    # Proper Identifications
    # Police Report &/or excerpt from the blotter (reported within 24 hours from the time of accident)
    # Payment Slip and/or Official Receipt
    # Accomplish Claims Report Form within 48 hours
    # Any Proof of ownership
    # Any other requested documentation to support the claim.
    * CLAUSES
    o Tampering Clause
    o Article 1250, New Civil Code Waiver Clause
    o Settlement Clause
    o Changes in Policy Clause
    o Suit Against the Company
    o Cancellation Clause & Short Period Rate Scale
    o Documentary Stamps Clause

    Procedure

    * All loss claims must be reported to the nearest police station where the incident happened within 24 hours from the time of loss and reported to the insurer within two (2) days from the date of loss.

    * Loss or accidental damage claims notification/reporting may be done by:
    o Calling eStandard Cellphone Insurance Customer Service at (02) 845-1111
    o Personally reporting loss at any Standard Insurance Co., Inc branch
    o Filling-out a Claims Notification Form online

    * All claimants must visit the nearest Standard Insurance Co., Inc. branch within 2 days from the time of loss or accidental damage.

    * Within ten (10) days upon loss or accidental damage of cellular phone, submit the required documents to the nearest Standard Insurance Claiming Center.

    Claims Requirements
    FOR DAMAGED UNITS

    * Proper Identifications
    * Bring the damaged unit
    * Accomplished Claims Report Form
    * Payment Slip / Certificate of Insurance
    * Supplementary documents to support the claim

    FOR LOSS CLAIM

    * Proper Identifications
    * Payment Slip / Certificate of Insurance
    * Police Report &/or excerpt from the blotter (must be reported within 24 hours from the time of loss)
    * Supplementary documents to support the claim
    * Accomplished Claims Report Form (file within 48 hours after loss)
    * Proof of ownership
