ok it's a remake of the Shirow Masamune classic as directed and delivered by Shinji Aramaki. This anime is a technological achievement, its not strictly anime.

Its a 3D cel-shaded action packed gut wrenching and mindblowing experience. Ok thats rather overstating it. I'm a bit impressed and at the same time a little disappointed. I've been into Appleseed manga and the story doesnt quite deliver although its the entire appleseed manga crammed in a 1 hr and 20 min movie. And the animation is jarring at first and takes time getting used to.

But I'm impressed, pure eye candy. But after watching it, I felt empty. Not better than the old series, and its not Ghost in the Shell either. Still a technological showcase.

i didn't like the appleseed movie. it wasn't that impressive for me.

What impressed me was the animation and that was all it could give.. The movie itself was not really good. In the manga, Deunan was tomboy-like especially the drawing but her attitude was lady-like. Deunan and Briareos fell in love.

well. the mecha animation was really good. the way the characters were animated was really bad in my opinion. i would have preferrd they animate the characters in the traditional way.
