    Default 2 LAN ports configuration ( Problem Solved )

    With mostly every motherboard nowadays you get 2 LAN ports on board.

    My question is... Is there a way to actually get ping improvements by setting one of the ports for outgoing and the other port for incoming packets? It sounds like it would slightly relieve some stress from the CPU and perhaps increase ping and maybe see tiny fps gains?

    So would there be a way to configure these 2 ports for this? or are the 2 ports just to connect to a LAN and the internet at the same time?

    I don't see how you are going to get any kind of ping advantages with this when you are gaming which is why I'm guessing you are trying to do this. You won't save any CPU cycles either since processing still has to be done by the CPU, even if you had a dedicated NIC with it's own processor, any performance improvements would be negligible. The only thing that this would be used for would be link redundancy when you have two ISPs. I do this on my personal server. With gaming though, you'd want to choose the link with the fewest hops to your destination.

    Doing this is relatively easy with Linux and is called NIC bonding, I don't know how you would do this on Windows though. I used to do NIC bonding with my personal server but eventually just decided to buy a router that does all the work. Relatively cheap if you can find it in the Philippines, my Dlink dual wan port router was around 100 dollars.

    Another advantage of using 2 lan ports kung ang PC is acting as an intelligent router/firewall.
    One network is used for local/intranet while the other is from/to DMZ or directly to the internet.

    Why would you ever want to put your PC on a DMZ when you can be behind a router.

    Email, FTP and web servers, for example, must be on DMZ.

    No, thats not true.
    I have email, ftp, webserver and other servers running behind a nat router with no DMZ.

    Back to topic:
    You can use 2 lan cards to do something like load balancing if you have 2 ISP's.
    I did it too before I got my dual wan router.

    Of course not, forward the ports.

    FTP = 20, 21,
    http = 80
    E-mail = smtp(25), pop(110), imap(143)

    There is no reason whatsoever you'd need to be in a dmz to serve up services.

    A proxy server can be set up like this, but it doesn't have to be.

    if the email, web or ftp server are compromised (hacked), your LAN will easily will.
    Security-wise, these services should be on DMZ.

    BTW dmz is the zone between 2 routers/firewall.

    LAN -----FW1------DMZ------FW2----INTERNET

    Misconception of DMZ as the internet cloud is common.
