    Default Dual monitor setup help

I am planning on buying a new LCD monitor soon.. I am looking at a Viewsonic 17"/19" one coz I've read some good reviews about them.
And I don't want to throw away my Samsung 17" CRT away, and I would love to try a dual monitor setup for the first time..
    here are my specs:

    GPU: nVIdia GeForce 6500 256MB
Processor: Intel Pentium D 2.80 Ghz
    RAM: 1GB
Monitor 1: Samsung SyncMaster 17" CRT
    Monitor 2 (buying): Viewsonic/Samsung 17"/19" LCD
    ======================================
    specs of GeForce 6500

    GPU/VPU: NVIDIA GeForce 6500

    RAMDAC: Dual 400 MHz

    Video Memory: 256MB

    Memory Type: DDR II

    Interface Type: PCI Express

    Connector(s): DVI
    TV/S-Video
    VGA (15-Pin D-Sub)
    EDIT: OS: Linux Ubuntu 7.10

so is a dual monitor setup possible with no problems?

I havn't tried triple monitor though, but dual monitor can be done as easy as pie.. just like plugging in a projector..

Just go to Display Properties, once you've plugged in both monitors, and set the 2nd display.. you can have them, Extended, Duplicate or Stretched settings..

you could also use the control panel of your video card..

BTW, OS d.i nimo ubuntu... just try going to the display properties ra jud.. you could explore there.. or download the Control Panel of your VCARD for Linux..
