    Default I'm a Tech-Dummy. Help, Please!

I recently bought a sony vaio laptop (Vista Home Premium) as well as a wireless router. I was able to configure it (blindly) running on my arrogance that I can read instructions. I was able to connect successfully but only after I "diagnosed." Meaning, when I start to connect to the internet, I have to click a lot of buttons and like magic, it works. But I need to know what I did wrong so I will know how to rectify it. I want to click only one time and see that wi-fi works.

I will list the problems later but just want to know if anyone of you have experienced the same thing.

I'm a Globe DSL subscriber and using Netgear. My computer says everything is working fine but it does take me awhile to figure out things. Truth be told, its easier for me to diagnose diseases than diagnose computer problems. So please help.

This is how you choose network signals:
Pearl button->Control Panel (classic view)->Network and Sharing Center. Check the left menu of the screen. You will see choices like wireless connection setting or manual connection setting. Choice either one of them. If you find the icon for wireless, right click then select connect. A window pops-up. Select the signal you want to connect to.
It's good to know this in case you need to connect to another signal
Mau na long cut... wala pa ko kabalo unsaon ang shortcut. hehe.

Yes, I want it configured. Vista's a bit confusing for me right now. I guess it takes getting used to.

I'll do that soon. Right now, I'm using my other laptop running on XP. Hopefully, someone can help me.

Guilty as charged But yeah, I do find a lot of people here are helpful. I've been member for quite sometime and preferred to lurk.

PS --- I wonder if there are any PT/OT graduates out there who are good in written english (grammar and comprehension), quick to analyze and use common sense, love to write and know word document (easy!) --- my company is hiring. Unfortunately, I choose not to divulge the my company's name right now because I have not asked the permission of the manager yet. But please PM me for details.
