yup firewall will definitely block you.. but you can edit your windows firewall by creating exclusion or unchecking the ics connection under windows firewall exclusions
this is act as gateway ,ics should be check.i tried adding http port 80 but still no luck.
How many computers do you have there sleepydeepeyed?
Are you using router and switch?
5 clients .no router. switch only. dsl is directly connected to winxp machine.
Ahh ok..All you have to do is to share the WAN miniport. Share the Local Area Connection where you input the IP Address and the DNS servers.
Then the remaining 5 clients, put a gateway and of course the IP Address and the DNS servers. You done!
yes i did that..but my concern is if the firewall is On ,clients cant access the net.thanks
Try to restore the Default Settings of the Firewall.
why not turn off the firewall of your gateway?
natural ma block ang traffic sa imong mga work station going to your gateway(XP SERVER) if naka ON IMONG FIREWALL, turn off your firewall but if you want to keep it on you must know what port and traffic imong e allow sa imong firewall settings..
in ana lang ka simple...
Yes I agree with Mr. monrose29, you have to allow the TCP port of course. So try to restore the default settings and you may want to manually allow the port in order to share the connection. Check the properties of firewall.
