Do you have a cold or cough that just won't go away?

Been tallying, and it seems there's a weird cold bug going around. Not really serious. More annoying than serious.

My dad, for example, has a cough for more than a month. An acquaintance says her cold has been around for 2 months. I've also had a weird off and on cough.

Is it because of the sudden hot and cold weather we've been having? Or is there a sort of mass hallucination going on because of bird flu?

take plenty of vitamin C (cecon)..and drink kalamansi juice everyday :mrgreen:

if ur having persistent cough try getting a chest xray, and or an early morning Sputum collection for AFB Smear and or Culture for 3 consecutive days.....heheheh

maybe u hav ALLERGY RHINITIS, juz like mine. i had this wen i was n college and up to dis day..... dili na mawala. there are certain days na i hav colds due to dust and pollen exposures or just simply the change in weather. i usually hav the worst rhinitis during the cold months. if your immune is too low and u hav dis allergies then it will trigger to other respiratory infection or even worst asthma. And sad to say....i hav acute asthma juz a year ago due to my allergies. better consult a specialist like pulmonologist or an allergy specialist for appropriate medication.

This is from a close family friend of ours who's also a doctor- he said there's really no specific medicine for cough and colds. If there's any- it's just to help you rest and decongest. So it's really rest & relaxation you need and plenty of fluids. Avoid stress. Drink plenty of water & citrus juices. Take it easy and lighten your workload.

common cold-- plenty of fluids, vit c, and enough rest.

stuffed nose due to seasonal or allergic rhinitis-- you can take antihistamines (but u shud not be totally dependent on this since eventually mosubside ra mana once ur not exposed na to the allergen).

cough-- u can have it checked by a doctor, den most probably gaan kag mucolytic or expectorants. but if dili ghapon mawala or persistent ghapon (esp if bloody ang sputum), u wud need na laboratory tests para ma rule out ang TB.
