Windows XP Welcome Screen Problem

When I start up my PC and when it reaches the Windows XP Welcome Screen it hangs. This happens only occassionally. What I do is press the reset button and after several tries it successfully loads Windows.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how to remedy this? Thanks.

i have the same problem sometimes. i just cross my fingers everytime I turn on my computer...hehe

na virusan man sad ako pc gud...
la pasad ko tym to reinstall windows kay la pako ka back up sa ako mga PRONS...
maluoy nalang ko sa ako pc pero usahay nindot patiran kay mag hang2x..lols

nahitabo nasad ni sa ako bro...=( what i did was g.reformat nalang nako akung pc.

Kapoy na kaayo reformat oi. hehe.. Dili man sad pirmi mahitabo. Panagsa ra mu-hang sa welcome screen.

then do not reformat your pc but instead, reinstall the OS.

once na mu-load na ang imong OS. run antivirus softwares like nod32 or kaspersky then also run antispyware. kung wala gani virus, backupdaun then repair utility na feature sa winxp.

It only hangs once in a while. I already did virus and spyware check. Still the same.
