Default Old railway tracks at the back of sibonga church

Visited the old sibonga church last weekend. It is just sitting along the highway. At the back, there is a public cemetery. I asked the residents there, why is there a railway track abandoned.

Mga project man daw na ni Marcos. Abandoned tanan by Aquino to discredit the previous administration. Actually it is already there. Wala lang gamita. A mass transportation for the benefit of entire Cebu.

    In addition:

When we had our Sibonga tour last week arranged by
Cebu Parklane Hotel and Sibonga Municipality, the tour
guide mentioned about the old railway system which
was located alongside Sibonga Elementary School when
    we passed by it.

Haven't checked though behind the church. It would've
been nice to see a glimpse of it when it was still functional

A view of the railroad station in Cebu. This was located in the junction of what is now corner Leon Kilat and P. del Rosario Streets. Work on the construction of the railroad started early in the American occupation. By 1908, a 60-mile railroad running through the capital connected Danao in the north and Argao in the south.
