    Default Liberal Party Leaving SuperMajority

    All the better.

LP should leave super majority now

WHAT MATTERS MOST By Atty. Josephus B. Jimenez (The Freeman) | Updated December 14, 2016 - 12:00am

The time has come for the Liberal Party to define itself. Is it with the administration or with the opposition? The highest-ranking LP political leader, Vice President Leni G. Robredo, has already cut clean. LP, her party, cannot continue to have its cake and be "eaten" too. It is being eaten alive by the PDP, by Malacaņang, by the Senate president, by the speaker of the House, and by the rest of the cabinet. Whatever moral fiber that the LP has, it shall already assert itself. And the time is now. The LP does not need the president. It is the president and his coalition that need the support of the LP in both houses of Congress. The more the LP drags its feet, the less moral authority would remain in itself.

VP Leni is the one, the anointed one by providence. The LP leader who has the scruples, the guts, and the passion to lead the opposition is not Kiko Pangilinan. He is too weak and so ambivalent. He has lost the fire in his belly when he was still a UP campus firebrand. Maybe marriage to Sharon has tamed him. He cannot continue being LP acting president. Franklin Drilon cannot lead the LP either. He bears the trademark of ACCRA, the firm that was too identified with Marcos during the glory that was the mid to late sixties and the grandeur that was Martial Law in the seventies. Ralph Recto cannot lead the LP because he is a Recto but not a Claro. His marriage to Ate Vi might have tamed him, too. Anyway, he was never bold as a lion, except when he invented the VAT and put it on the burdens of the people.
VP Leni is the female version of David, anointed to slay the giant Goliath. It is not Leila de Lima, for God's sake. Both VP Leni and de Lima are from the peppery region of Bicol, nurtured by the hot winds from Mayon and strengthened by the many typhoons that regularly visit Bicolanos the whole year round. Both VP Leni and Senator Leila are solo parents now. But the vice president never had a regular driver, and if ever she had one, as demanded by the Office of the Vice President, there has never been any rumor of her driver being multi-skilled and multi-tasking. No, Senator de Lima has been tainted by too much aspersions, even if they are not proven beyond her admissions of woman's frailties before Kumare Winnie Monsod.
Senator Hontiveros is too inexperienced and too soft to lead the LP. She has to learn the basics of parliamentary struggles. She has to learn the ropes of Senate politics. Senator Bam Aquino's most compelling ticket to the Senate is his Ninoy Aquino look-alike projection, being sharpened by his Ninoy eyeglasses. But apart from that, he has not made a mark in the hallowed halls of that august chamber. And so, the best man to lead the LP is a woman, no other than the vice president. By cutting his ties with the administration, she has finally defined herself. And the people love her for that.
With a leader like Leni, it is untenable that the LP continues to dance the bogey with the president whose fundamental policies most LP leaders are opposing anyway. The LP opposes the Marcos burial. The LP opposes the death penalty. The LP opposes the "persecution" of de Lima. The LP supports PNoy and Mar Roxas, the prime oppositors to the Duterte presidency. And so, what is the LP doing in the super majority?
The honeymoon is over. It is time to cut and cut clean. Now. The die is cast. The LP must cross the Rubicon or drink the hemlock poison. Prepare for 2022. And the time to start is not tomorrow but now. Right now.
Freeman ( Article MRec ), pagematch: 1, sectionmatch:
Meanwhile, let the rest of the country allow president Duterte to govern the nation within the framework of law. The rule of law is what matters most.

kani nga partido ang nagdala ug bwisit sa nasod.

if what they say is true that they love the Philippines, they better disband, shut up & get convicted of their crimes & wrongdoings.

Seems to be so Busy campaigning, so busy planning on what to do to oust the president, while there their work is next to nothing for the progress of filipino people.
A typical day for Liberal party.
Politics > progress for filipino people.
cant get over losing > progress
opposing marcos burial > Progress for the nation
    cirminal rights > citizens rights

A party of flunkey leadership subjugating itself towards their greedy and corrupt members,
they should disband for hordes of shadowy malevolent entities already engulfed their party.

Don't worry, this is Lagman's idea which most of LPs in congress are ignoring him.
