Me and my friend got a booking thru’ this facebook promo sometime in August 2016 for our supposed stay in November. We were too excited knowing that this resort is one of Mactan’s best and we got rooms at low price. More importantly, I was so eager to spend my birthday with friends and family in a different setting. We then arranged for early check-in and birthday treat on top of the regular booking.
A day before our intended stay, my friend rushed to Mindanao for a very important matter concerning a family member so I hurriedly called customer service as the owner of the credit card used to pay for this booking couldn’t come with us. To our surprise, we were told that we may no longer avail of the booking even with the use of Credit Card Authorization as the property requires 3days notification prior to arrival. I tried to insist given the situation plus the unavailability of premise about the 3-day notice or similar restrictions on the booking confirmation or in any other form of communication. That simple, request denied and we lost our rooms.
Wondering how this happened where in fact the bill has already been charged to the CC and paid months before our intended stay? Meaning, there is no issue about the use of credit card as the property already received our payment. When asked why information about this ruling wasn't explicitly provided, I was only answered that it was an internal policy. I would like to believe that such significant information should be disclosed to their guests.
Now, another friend informed me that the resort is giving 60% off to early bookings. I am again reminded of my unpleasant experience so I went to their site curious about the offer policy about 3rd party bookings. Then here it reads: "In case of 3rd Party credit cards, Booking will not be made until the cardholder contacts the hotel and provides a Credit Card Authorization Form with all other required documents." Again, where is the provision about the 3 days notice?
