MANILA - Convicted crime lord Tony Co was killed while three others were wounded in a stabbing incident at the national penitentiary on Tuesday, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre said.
Convict Peter Co was in critical condition while two others, Vicente Sy and Jaybee Sebastian were being treated in the hospital, Aguirre told DZMM.
Aguirre said it was unclear what started the melee.
Sebastian was among high-profile convicts who testified before a congressional inquiry last week that government officials received payoffs from illegal drug operations that were run from behind bars.
