Naa ba mo usab PS3 dri sa cebu kana mo play na on all regions sa dvd/HD-dvd nya? im planning to buy one not for games but for multimedia purposes. Im gonna use it to play blu-ray/dvd/HD-dvd/vcd movies. Pero ang problem is bsin dili mo play ako mga disc gamiton. US version gud ako plano paliton. Pero ingon sila depende daw sa region para play mga movies.

nope, PS3 cant be modded yet and i hate to use my PS3 to play p* dvds eeep and don't worry aboout the Blu-Ray Coding, US/Japan/Asia belongs to Region A

A North America, Central America, South America, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
B Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
C India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mainland China, Pakistan, Russia, Central and South Asia.

So unsa nka lahi sa US and asian version in terms of using it as a movie player?

US will only play R1 DVDs, asian only R3, jap version only R2 but all them can play Blu-Ray Region A and Region 0 dvds lols

Unsa mau i suggest na version bro? pang HD DVD rman gud ni ako PS3. Di kau ni nko magamit pang games. Unsa na nga region sa US na HD-dvd/dvd? unsa sad na region mga DVD dri?

hmmm just to clarify, ang PS3 kay Blu-ray, HD-DVD is another competing format, Region 1 ang sa US ang mga DVD, while kanang sa ato baligya sa shops sa mall is Region 3 98% of them, as i said same rata region sa Blu-ray with the US, if u r asking where to buy Blu-rays i suggest this site

PS3 - only Blu-ray no HD DVD support.
And since you mention na dili kau magamit pang games pang HD-DVD lang,
here's a cheaper alternative and just my two cents :
buy a X360 HD DVD drive ( roughly around $150 ) , connect that HD drive to PC,
and play the disc w/ Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 ( roughly around ).

would that work direct to an HDTV? why need a PC? also naa sad movies na exclusive sa Blu-ray and vice versa, like Disney is supporting Blu-ray so no Cars, Ratatouille, etc... on HD-DVD etc... oh found a cheaper one here

it won't work direct, you still need third party software like Cyberlink to decode the HD DVD.
buying the HD DVD add-on drive for Xbox360 is a cheaper alternative IMHO than buying standalone HD DVD players.
(and you don't have to buy the Xbox console itself)

Pang HD-DVD bro. Knhanlan ko HD-DVD player. Ingon sila mo play daw HD-DVD ang PS3, dili diay? PS3 ako plano kay in the future bsin mang gawas na mga blu ray movies dri atleast magamit japon nko pero as of now HD-DVD sa ko while mka play pa ug games. dili pang pc akong ps3 ako ni sumpay sa amo HDTV para magamit na jd tawn.
