Question Wifi Range Extender/Repeater Nga Mo IP-Based QoS or Bandwidth Limiter, Naa Mo Nahibaw-an Unsa nga Brand og Model?

Nangita ko ani mga master. Maybe naa mo nahibaw-an unsa nga brand og model sa router

    try lang ko comment...

    1. sadly wala ko kahibalo if na-a ba routers na-a ani 'ALL' features in one hardware that your asking
    2. extender/repeater + QoS == ultra rare "OR" ultra expensive (if na-a man gani)
    3. I discourage using "extender/repeater" as it will cut your wifi bandwidth in half (see google for pros and cons)

for me bro, I have some options for you:

option 1: if na-a ang hardware, then lucky you.
option 2: use 2 devices for your setup..., 1st router/modem will do QoS, 2nd router/wifi will do the extender part

sa option 2, pwede bare hardware mudala sa imo QoS, pero if you need more, you may need to flash with DDWRT or Tomato. Other option for your QoS is using pfSense/Sophos/Kerio and such.

Salamat sa inputs dab_s_bad. Hala, kanang for sale karon nga range extender/repeater kay dili diay na maayo due to mo cut in half diay?

pfSense, Kerio and Sophos etc are PC based..., it will convert your PC into an "ultimate" router/switch.

Tomato and DDWRT and the likes are custom firmware to be flashed to specific routers. they have gazillion of features youll never use as well..., the only time I wont consider using tomato/ddwrt is with voip/tunneling of which use encryption, and this is the only downside of routers as they are limited to "horsepower"..., pero, kung QoS lang, ay, kilawon ra sa router, provided it has those QoS features built-in.

BTW..., all things be it wifi or LAN have "IP", QoS will work, even in bluetooth.

Naa ba QoS or bandwidth limiter ang tomato og ddwrt?

kalas kuryente?, this is yes and no depending on what PC you are using..., then imo 'pangbalay'..., does not matter if you use pfSense for home or business, nindot gyud siya gamiton

in theory, yes, you can do it, although you 'may' have difficulties setting it up (unless dual LAN ang netbook)..., kai need man ka dual LAN sa pfSense, your only option if netbook imo gamit kay usb-to-LAN converter..., I hope dili kuti ang pfSense sa usb-to-LAN adapter kai wala pasab ko makasulay.

hmmm., murag la-in ila 'term' sa tomato ani..., its "wds" I guess [simultaneous AP & WDS (aka wireless repeating)]

then..., it depends on the router you are using, mainly depending on chipset and ram of that router.
