Help: Canon or Nikon

hi istoryans, i'd like to ask for suggestions..

i wanna try photography but can't decide on what DSLR should I use.

my purpose for this is for portraits and landscapes.

what do you think? canon or nikon? (and the model please..)

your help will be greatly appreciated.

Fuji X mirrorless for both portraits and landscapes.

unless you're planning to do some serious photography work, then go for a dslr.

Canon has good skin tones for portraits, Nikon has vibrant colors for landscapes.

Ahh so ga-fuji na diay ka. I think depende jud siya sa lens, how you appreciate the image, kay the type of photos na makuha nimo would heavily depend on your lens. shempre kung mushoot ka ug lens na 1.4 or 1.2 ang aperture, lahi ra jud ang outcome if 3.5 or 5.6 ang aperture sa imo photos. Since ga-fuji na man ka, i think kaya ra jud kaayo ana imo camera, pero if portraits ka, invest in a high quality lens, like 35mm f1.4 XR sa fuji or the great 56mm f1.2. and if landscape ka, i think naa sila 10-24mm na lens. nya advantage pud is if tig-travel ka, light ra kaayo imo dala. sayang imo xm-2 if dili magamit.


Im currently eyeing the Fuji X-T10 or the X-T1 pero murag layo pa sa tinuod kay di makaya sa budget. hehe. Puhon lang nya.


I-check si David Guenther, photographer sa fuji for landscapes and James Day for portraits/wedding. Maka-inspire. hehe.

newbie or not, D7100 or D7200 nalang.

btw, Nikon user here. Dont know unsa mga midrange DSLR sa Canon. Not sure, basin 70D cguro na.

Nikon if photo. I have canon dslr pero ang canon karon hinay ilang release sa bag ong model unya inferior ilang specs/price ratio compared to nikon. Ex kaning nikon d750 with a price range of 68-75k brand new surpasses the nikon 5dmk3 wich cost 120k. Nikon has better dynamic range, image quality, resolution, shoots faster, lighter, etc.

Pero kung in the future mo explore ka into videography, mas nindot gyud ang Canon in terms of video. Naay cinematic look. nindot ug templa.

Ts, it depends on how comfortable you are in using either of the brand, if you like how canon structures their menu, then go for canon, if not try nikon. try using and trying both brands to get the feel of the capabilities. i myself am a canon user.. let me know if you want to try canon, i can lend you my camera for you to try and use. you have to make a criteria on how you rank whats important to you.. would it be the color accuracy (fuji already has a great level or color accuracy) , would it be the budget (some nikon lens cost more compared to canon counterpart), ergonomics and how it feels in your hand, after sales support..etc.

either brand is good, its a matter of how you make use of it.

Your personal choice agda para di mag mahay. Canon and Nikon are both top of the line dslr makers. Imo... Not entirely IQ ang basihan pag produce og jaw dropping photos but its the composition that counts.
