    Default Disco Club or Bar lighting...????


    Hello peeps..any helpfulll tip for taking pic on bar club..galisud jud ko as in..im using canon eos 400 d wid expdlite 580 EX II flash and canon ultasonic 70-200mm my setting is ok i guess Is00 of 800 ,1/80 f.4.0 ..kaso moving man sya kai dance contest blurred2 jud ang agi labi na kai changeable ang lights and naa pay spotlights....Unsaon mana oi..

    1/80 at F4.0 ... blurred gyud na siya. If you want to freeze action, you should be shooting at 1/200. Try shooting with Tv or M mode, fix the camera at 1/200 and adjust other variables to compensate. Also if you're lens is the 70-200 F4 IS, try shooting with IS set to ON so that you can have 2 or 3 stops more, and try not to shoot at the long end of the zoom (as longer zooms are prone to slightest camera shake, the 1/200 may not be enough).

    Try also setting the flash at fast sync so that you'll not be limited by the 1/200 (max) shutter curtain sync. I believe teh 580 EX II can do this.

    580 set to ettl

    i have met a pro who shoot with consumer grade lenses and shoot at 200mm with iso 400, f/7.1 and 1/15 or lower and set the flash to ettl ... nindut man

    Aperture priority is only good on low light if you have stationary or non-moving subjects. If you want low light action photography, focusing maybe a problem as most lenses would hunt for focus, but if the stage is brightly lit, then this shouldn't be a problem. However, if you're subjects are not moving away or towards you, and you are not moving also, you can switch to manual focus, focus and fire away ....

    430EX can do also.
