    Default PyCon PH 2016 - UP Cebu - Feb 27 & 28

PyCon PH 2016 will happen on Feb 27 and 28 in UP Cebu.

One of the keynote speakers is Reina Reyes. Rappler refers to her as "the Filipina who proved Einstein right" in this interview: The Filipina who proved Einstein right

The second keynote speaker is Carol Willing. Carol Willing is a Director of the Python Software Foundation, a research software engineer at Cal Poly SLO working on Project Jupyter(iPython notebooks). She’s a contributor to the actual Python interpreter and Audrey Roy Greenfeld’s Cookiecutter project, a maintainer for OpenHatch and the Anita Borg Institute’s open source projects, and a mentor for Google Summer of Code and GoogleCode In. She recently spoke at Grace Hopper Celebration 2015, PyCon US 2015, and Write/Speak/Code2015.

The third keynote speaker is Dylan Jay.Dylan is CTO of PretaGov an expressive and secure CMS SaaS dedicated for gov.au and gov.uk. He is also a Plone core developer.

    The following is from https://plone.org/about/:

Plone is a powerful, flexible Content Management Solution that is easy to install, use and extend. Plone lets non-technical people create and maintain information for a public website or an intranet using only a web browser. Organizations as diverse as NASA, Oxfam, Amnesty International, Nokia, eBay, Novell, the State Universities of Pennsylvania and Utah, as well as the Brazilian and New Zealand governments — all use Plone.

We also have talks on data/analytics, web development, server/infra management, the Raspberry Pi, the Internet of Things, and many others from Philippine Python developers.

A lot of members from our own Filipino scientific community will be presenting as well. Off the top of my head we have physicists, astronomers, molecular biologists, and meteorologists.

The second day will also have workshops for beginners, machine learning, and web development with Django.

    This is the official site:

We're still finalizing the order of the talks, but you can get an idea from the speaker bios.

Online registration can also be found in the link. Tickets start at P1500. Use the promo code EARLYBIRD for a discount.

@marzzz21 Yes. A lot of the talks are beginner-friendly and should be easy to understand if you code in another language. There is also a workshop on the second day for beginners.
