Will go Black Screen when playing Games
Please Heeelp!
When I play 3d games like need for speed carbon My monitor usually turns black screen in a few seconds after actually playing the game.

Also this problem applies to my other game Company of Heroes. After loading any tutorial or video test it will go to a black screen after a few moments.

the signal will get lost from the videocard and the monitor's power light starts flashing

I can still hear the game audio going on the back ground.

Everything running fine except when playing games.

Heres my Specs:
E6600
2 gb ddr2 800 Geil ram
MSI P35 Neo
GeCube x1950xt 512MB on Samsung 940bw

Catalyst 7.9
OS: windows XP SP2

I have tried researching a bit. Its not caused by overheating since Catalyst reported 51c on GPU
CPU is only 41c while system is 38c
tried rolling back the driver still the same.
Updates mobo bios and drivers the same.

Im running out of options please help!

try change the properties for your directx your control panel then try using forced refresh rate in direct draw

kasway ko sauna tanan 3d games including d benchmarking software pakapin sa vcard.. after a few mins pawng ang moni, pero andar japn ang cpu... ako ra gtry ang builtin graphics card and nasolve ang prob. defective ang card. ako gpailisan k under warranty paman wid d same unit n model.

wala raba ni built in graphics ang msi p35 noh try other vcards kuno if you have some spare...

I think ang VCard ang gubaon ani. ur right there is no software related issue about this problem.

Also i have tried lowering the resolution for the game itself (800x600) same problem will go to black screen.

Where do I change such option? In Catalyst control panel there is an option about forcing refresh rate though have tried forcing it to 1400x900:75hz (native resolution) it still would go to black screen.

Will probably process an RMA for the Card.

Well I have found out the issue.

It seems that this is not a hardware problem.
The culprit is the CCC - Catalyst control center. It seems to mess up or underclock the clock speeds of my VC.

When I tried running ATI tool it reported 627GPU and 702 while in CCC it reported 500GPU and 600 Mem.
Tried running ATI tool and closing CCC - very odd thing happend the problems are now gone.
Finished Company of heroes tutorial and Video Test without any black screen problems.

Seems that this is an new issue with CCC on x1950xt Videocards. Will create an issue ticket to ATI/AMD Hehe.
Issue is resolved.

that's the problem of making an application with too much option coz it will certainly have bugs...

Ahh. The problem came back it temporarily went away. Then when I played company of heroes then it came back again. This is not a problem for the Catalyst its my video card hardware that has a problem. Good thing its still in the warranty.
