i'm using a zoom gfx-8 with boss-metalzone for dirt drive and a phonic graphic equalizer for wider venue for a clearer and cleaner tone. each patch is designed to achive the type of music i'm playing. let's say i'm doing a very heavy metal riff, i take down the mid on my equalizer and add on the low. but getting that type of mix can't express much on your guitar solo, especially if you don't hav a volume pedal. so what i do for solo part i go on adding more on the mid eq. so in that way your solo get more expression.
