Default Problem encountered on Network Seagate Black Armor (Seagate Nas)

    Hi Istoryans,

Especially to our IT Experts here in iStorya(dot)Net
I need some input or ideas about on our existing Seagate NAS.

    Specs:
    4 3TB of HDD
    Raid Type : Raid 5
    Brand : Seagate

Problems encountered previously our Seagate NAS Raid Type is : Volume Span

during Volume Span nga Configuration we encounter that one of HDD Failed (Defective) automatically all of the remaining HDD is no longer usable all files were deleted.

after the issue, we purchased new hdd replacement sa damaged / defective the same specs sa remaining hdd.

so we have now 4 3TB HDD. after that we re configure the Seagate NAS into Raid 5 na (3 HDD is active and usable and the remaining one is for Backup).

after one week we encounter one hdd failure (old hdd) so ang current status nalang sa among seagate backup is
instead of 4pcs of 3TB HDD( 3pcs 3TB HDD usable / active and 1pc 3TB for backup), we have now 3pcs of 3TB HDD(3pcs of 3TB HDD Usabe / Active and No more Backup )

    see image below
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/dwa8hoph1p...dMode.PNG?dl=0

so means magamit ra gihapon namo ang remaining 3pcs of 3TB HDD but wala me spare for backup in case naay maguba nga hdd sa 3.

after the issue nag request dayon me ug another 3TB HDD para ma replace namo ang damaged but unfortunately after 5days, we found out that one of our HDD(installed in Seagate NAS) failed turned to defective.

so we have currently 2pcs of 3TB HDD remaining all of the files is not accessible .

    thanks

goodbye files. 1 hdd failure ra kaya raid 5 na mo restore. but since nagdagan ang nas without the backup disk and then one hdd failed again, dili na na consistent ang files ana.

should have setup nas as mirror method.

    IMHO

Hard disk failure can happen anytime due to bad power supply, virus attack, damaged block and sectors, corrupted operating system files

but since you had already been replacing new drives and still was damage in a week or so,. then chances are guba imong power supply unit sa NAS (erratic voltage outputs - assumption lng nako)

im not familiar jud with NAS, not sure if parehas ba ug PSU with desktop
but for sure, it supplied 5v and 12v to your hdd.
try to check lng the power cable and
test for voltages if sakto ba ang gihatag..

Supply [V] Tolerance Range (min. to max.) c/o google
    +5 VDC ±5% (±0.25 V) +4.75 V to +5.25 V
    +12 VDC ±5% (±0.60 V) +11.40 V to +12.60 V

same ni sa imo naEncounter sir ai....

    IMHO
the files was totally deleted and expected dili na siya ma recover the same thing happen when i first encounter the failure of hdd in volume span.

how to set up nas in mirror method ?

    anyway thanks sir werty

have you server checked by qualified technicians. i know regular hdd d maayo pang standalone na NAS but sa imo case, kusog ra kaayo fail rate. have it check and apil ipa check mains power conditions.

gi gamitan ni good quality surge protector outlet? stable ba ang 220V dha? gi agi compatible na UPS or avr? etc?
