    .

    madlang istoryans!!!

    need your help on something...

plano mi mananom sa rooftop that would not only help our daily needs sa vegetables but would want to sell the rest...
    we'd like to maximize space...

    question...

    - unsa maayo vegetable/s nga dali ra ma-ani para ma-baligya?
    - unsa maayo vegetable/s nga mahal ang palit/baligya?

***post lang ko additional questions nya...
***anyone can post an input or ask here...

bump this up... im always happy whenever one is interested in backyard farming although yours is on the roof but still part of your home.

income-wise not very viable because most of the time a small parcel can only sustain our daily consumption and its possible income may be equal to chump change.

If madala nimo Boss, you can always go for hydroponics or aquaponics or oraganic gardening sa imong rooftop.
(each of these got how-to threads in the Hobbies section)

    Unsa'y nindot itanom:
** high value crops : herbs like mint, basil, lettuce, pechay, sage, rosemary, etc
** + some vegies like kamatis, sibuhas, okra, talong atbp.
** pwede pod patatas (search lang : Grow 100 lbs. of Potatoes in 4 Square Feet sa youtube)
    ** pwede pod tropical grapes

Kanang vine types like batong, patani, kalabasa, etc... nindot pod na pero samok man gud tan-awon.

I have my own garden on our roofdeck.

My main problems: 1. scorching heat of the sun and 2. strong winds.

You have to make provisions for a frame (wood or metal tubes) so you can place a net mesh and/or UV sheet over your plants. If you can build a small greenhouse, it would be much better.

    in the beginning:

    as of aug 10:

    as of aug. 26:

    as of today:

na harvest na ang lettuce. all basils and tomatoes na lang ang sulod sa akong NFT system. the seedlings on the foreground are placed in the system sept. 17(tomato) and sept. 21(basils).

aquarium airpumps ra man sad bro. so far sa 2 months naka-ON ang 2 air pumps, wala may noticeable change sa among electric bill.

if you're referring to water pump...wala pa ko nigamit ug water pump. mao I use air pumps to keep the hydro solution aerated all the time.
