Pero according diri, #1 man ang sinulog unya 4 million attendess pag 2014 pa gyud.

The survey or article says it all. Don't confuse yourself with something that's quite obvious. Sinulog is widely known and only through this once a year celebration that devotees and tourists all over the country come and visit the city to pay tribute to Sto.Nino. Not only do we Cebuanos celebrate it annually with street dances and parties but it has also been a tradition to most people, that even small municipalities and towns all over the country recognize the festivity too. Dinagyang festival? yes, it is also being celebrated in honor of the holy child and tourists come as well to visit the place during the said occasion. However if we try to compare with how big the crowd is in terms of population on the day of the said festivity, I believe, no other festival could be compared to that of the Sinulog festival.


And what makes Sinulog even grander and bigger? ang "YOLO"


But celebrating festivites such as Sinulog and Dinagyang could be nonsense without knowing its true essence.

there is no comparison to both, they are the same and both are fun to join with... the only differences is that sinulog had become toooooo comercialize were as dinagyang dili pa kaayo as what ive observed...

Being a cebuano growing up in the heart of the city, i know how big sinulog has become.

Wala gyud koy idea anang dinagyang unya nabasahan nako naay nicomment mas dako or mas maayo daw ang dinagyang gud mao nangita ta opinion sa uban nga naka experience sa 2. hehe

Yes Sinulog is commecialize, pero ang impotante daghan sad and nag ampo sad. Maayo ani e compare is the volume of people during the grand mass and novenas. It will tell which has understood the real essense. Pero sure nako sa Sinulog daghan gyud sa fiesta grand mass, daghan naman gani bisan wala pay fiesta mag rerouting and traffic paman gani,,hehehe

if you ask an illongo ingon jud na sila dako ang ilaha... same thing if you ask a person from kalibo nga dako sad ilaha... though i only experienced dinagyang and sinulog... wala koy nakitang kalahi-an except that masgubot ang sinulog... the idea of sinulog is similar sa mardi gras.. well thats what they call it..

Hmmm you mean the essence is not the religious side? then there's no need for Sinulog if we scrap the religion side. the essence of Sinulog is for praying, praising dancing, celebrating for the Holy Santo NiÑo the child Jesus. Anybody just coming there for the redhorse is really F*ck up and should start dancing praising in front of that bottle. that's his essense.. lol,,hahahah
