Default never would have heard it...

if it weren't for the fact that a certain song is a soundtrack to my favorite movie, tv show, videogame etc.

    1. 1/2 - kawamoto makoto
    sobakaso - judy and mary
its gonna rain - bonnie pink

ost - samurai x (anime series)

jpop at its best. samurai x featured some of the best opening and closing themes and these 3 are the best among the various
    commercially licensed tracks.

    2. under the milky way tonight - the church

played as background music on one episode of Prison Break (tv series)

austin powers may not have the love for the 80's as he considers it as nothing more than an oil shortage and a flock of
    seagulls
but one thing you can't deny though about the decade is its great music. so i was very happy that during one of my
prison break marathon viewing sessions, i came to hear a hauntingly beautiful song not knowing neither the title nor the artist of the
track, so i did the next most logical thing to do, got my limewire running and
used a few lines from the song as my query, and voilah, the mp3 is on my player ever since

    3. girl, you'll be a woman soon - urge overkill

    ost - pulp fiction (movie)

great soundtrack to a great movie, tarantino's best movie imo

    4 joy - gay dad

    ost - fifa 2000 (videogame)

just one those few songs that you'll immediately like the instant you hear them

    share yours

This happens to me but it's mostly the other way around. I'd hear the song first before I get to watch the movie.

Feels Like Home - Chantal Kreviazuk
I was told this was played in Dawson's Creek.

    Secret Garden - Bruce Sprinsgsteen
Jerry Mguire soundtrack. My friends wouldn't believe I had not seen this movie and claimed I'd miss half of my life if I didn't see it.

Glory of Love - Peter Cetera
Sa Karate Kid man diay ni.

Streets of Philadelphia - Bruce Springsteen
From the movie Philadelphia with Tom Hanks. I have yet to watch this.

    Teardrop - Massive Attack
    Opening theme of House M.D.

    ---
Anyway just to stay on topic. Songs I downloaded because of movies I've seen.

Life Keeps Bringing Me Back To You - From the sitcom Just Shoot Me. Love this song although it is very short. Ako gyud dayung gi butang sa akong blog.

Save The Last Dance - The Drifters. From the series Queer As Folk that my friend had me watch.

    hey sandy - polaris

ost - the adventures of pete and pete (tv series)

the adventures of pete and pete tells the oftentimes surreal and always humorous story of the brothers pete and pete.
heres the wiki entry of the song:
"Hey Sandy" is a song by the indie rock band Polaris which serves as the theme song for the Nickelodeon television show The Adventures of Pete & Pete. It's well-known by fans of the show and the band alike for its lyrics, which are not only nearly indecipherable in the first place, but also have generated considerable debate as to their meaning.
The full lyrics were a subject of speculation for several years until they were (mostly) revealed to fans by band members. One line, the third one and the most difficult one to understand, was purposefully left a mystery by head songwriter Mark Mulcahy.

just exactly how indecipherable the lyrics is?, well heres how i thought the lyrics were supposed to be when compared with the correct lyrics:

    mine correct

hey sandy Hey Sandy (ai ai ai ai)
does your dog bite ? Don't you talk back (ai ai ai)
    yes indeed Hey Sandy
