The story is set in a modern-day Japan attacked by an infectious disease which turns people into carnivorous ghouls called "ZQN."

41-year-old actor You Oizumi plays the protagonist Hideo Suzuki who WORKS as a manga assistant. Luckily for him, he has a shotgun for clay target shooting which helps him to survive the apocalyptic situation. Oizumi is known as Nezumi Otoko in the live-action adaptation films of Shigeru Mizuki's horror manga GeGeGe no Kitaro, and also voiced in several anime films including Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away (2001), The Cat Returns (2002), and Howl's Moving Castle (2004). 21-year-old actress
Kazumi Arimura, who will voice the protagonist character Marnie in Studio Ghibli's 2014 summer film
When Marnie Was There, will join the cast as a high school girl Hiromi Hayakari, with 26-year-old Masami
Nagasawa as a nurse named Yabu.

Shinsuke Sato (GANTZ, Library Wars) directs the film with a script by Akiko Nogi (Library Wars). Makoto
Kamiya (Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-out Attack, Japan Sinks) WORKS on special
effects. The shooting is scheduled to begin in early June and finish in August.

Hideo Suzuki is a thirty-five year old mangaka assistant struggling to be the hero in his own life by breaking back into the lime light with a new serial all the while juggling his relationship with his girlfriend and his own delusions. However, as hard as Hideo may try, the world seems to have a different set of plans for him; sinister and dark machinations that completely overturn his reality as he knows it.

F*CKING SERIOUSLY!? I beg to differ, the manga was NEVER BORING! Its juz the right pace to set the mood. Im a HUUUUUUUUGE fan of the series. The age of the lead actor threw me off kay medyo gulangon na, pero when I saw his pictures, he looks kinda young pa man diay. He juz needs to gain weight to properly portray Suzuki. And Kasumi Arimura is just perfect. This and the live action of Attack on Titan is something to look forward to in the future. Double barrel shotgun FTW!
