I don't know about you, but I thought Pacquiao threw a monkey wrench to the myth about his humility and professionalism with the list of excuses that he usually comes up when he loses a fight.
In the few days leading up to the fight, Pacquiao was saying "his killer instinct is back" and "he's 100% confident and ready" and even said to his fans "Relax, don't worry. We're going to win." Now, after he clearly lost a near wipeout of a fight, first, he said "I thought I won the fight. I hit him with a lot of punches. Floyd was running the whole night."
I think it was only during the post-fight presscon that he started his excuse-making machine: "Oh, I injured my shoulders. It's hard to fight one-handed." And then he contradicted himself with "Actually, I injured my shoulder during training and the commission denied him permission to get injected with painkillers. I got better as the days went on but I lost a lot of ground in training." It's not the exact quote but it gets to the gist of it. He's very creative with the excuses, like when he lost to Morales and blamed it on his gloves, his socks, and getting blood tested on fight night. The painkiller thing is rather curious. What sort of injection did he really want to have that wasn't permitted? Hmmm.....
Come on, Manny. Give your opponent his due respect. He beat you fair and square. It's a shame now that the "sore loser" tag is now circulating on the internet because of this.
