Default Bill penalizing children who abandon parents pushed..

"A lawmaker is pushing for the immediate passage of a bill that will penalize children who abandon their parents no longer able to fend for themselves.

Cavite Rep. Roy Loyola said House Bill 5336, to be known as the Parents Welfare Act of 2014, requires children to provide their old and sick parents support for sustenance, clothing, residence, medical attendance and other amenities that would enable them to lead a normal life.

The bill imposes the penalty of imprisonment of one month to six months or a fine of not more than P100,000 if the respondent continues to fail to give support for three consecutive months without justifiable cause.
“Whoever, having the care of protection of a parent in need of support, leaves such parent in any place with the intention of wholly abandoning the latter, shall be punished with imprisonment of six years to 10 years and a fine of not less than P300,000,” the bill states."

Main reason pod daw is poverty, pero naa jd uban na plainly out of negligence and dont want to take responsibility (out of gratitude man lang unta) but basically compared sa other countries like Singapore, it is not illegal yet but elderly parents (aged 60 and above) can file a "Maintenance of Parents Act". Pero mao lage, if way kaya mo supporta ang mga anak unsaon man pod?

Question, why would you abandon your parents who took care of you for years? Abi kay tiguwang byaan nalang..
Poverty is an unacceptable reason to abandon your parents...

take example sa atong family code against parents who abandon their children....way klaro nga implementation...mas nidgahna mn hinuon nag abandoned children karon.

if mobayad ang anak ani nga fine
imprisonment of one month to six months or a fine of not more than P100,000
imprisonment of six years to 10 years and a fine of not less than P300,000
    kini nga mga ginikanan
parents no longer able to fend for themselves.
makakuha pud anang fine na ilang gibayad?
    basin ang goverenment ray madatu.

if imprisonment ang punishment, samot dili makatabang ang anak.

but why risk paying the fine or going to prison if kani ra ang hinungdan
fail to give support for three consecutive months

Tendency magpa priso nalang.. if ma priso usnaon nalang ang pamilya pod? usnaon pag support?

wala may win-win sitwasyon aning balaura, pag hulga ni or pag set as example ra cguro para naa kahadlok.

We come to a point in our history as Humans that we NEED to Force Children to Do what SHOULD be the Basic Things. We Abandon our Foundation, we lost direction and also our Hope....

I don't know if it will actually work. How does imprisonment even help. LoL.

    What if:

Parents abandon child > Child works his own a$$ up > Parents found out children is now living in a mansion > Children goes to jail > Parents take over mansion > PRICELESS
