Problem with CD writer

My cd writer won't write audio cd nor can't it copy cds. It can only write data cds. Any ideas?

might be software/driver? try lang siguro reinstall.

The cd writer doesn't need a driver. I've already reinstalled my software but still get the same problem. I've wasted more than 10 blank cds already.

hmm have you tried other brands? I've got the same dillema with me DVD burner.. about 90% failure rate on a certain brand.

any error message? try burning at lower speeds. when writing audio CD's max speed advisable is 8x for quality and compatibility

Bai DSX, I've already tried other brands. Even the Sony CD that I rely the most, to no avail. I've even tried writing it at 8x but still get a failed burn. This is driving me crazy.

try upgrading the firmware of your drive.

mostly OS issue mn na bai. had some problems before with my dvd burner. i already uninstalled and reinstalled Nero, still dsame thing. i reinstalled the OS again and all worked fine
