Now, I have talked to netgear and was told nga I wont still get a connection with my 2 laptops if wont buy modem. they cannot advice me how to setup my connection when I already have modem because that is 3rd party na daw.

So ask lang ko. How should I set it up, should I still use splitter when I already have modem and router connected? Kamung mga techie techie diha bi tabang!!!!!!!!!!

    How come wla ky modem?
    Kda customer naa may modem.
Imong IP sa imo modem himuang gateway sa router ug ilisi ang imo IP sa router nga dli magparehas sa modem

    EXAMPLE
    192.168.1.1 MODEM DEFAULT

    192.168.1.1 ROUTER GATEWAY
    192.168.10.1 ROUTER IP

kanang imo internet i connect sa router WAN port, iconfigure nimo ang wan sa imo router to DHCP ( kung dili static imo WAN if Static choose Static then input the IP provided by your ISP and the gateway), configure nimo ang router as DHCP so your other laptop will obtain IP address from the router. other security sa imo router ikaw na bahala.

@Sojourner, it's unusual that they don't provide you a modem? anyway, you said they only provide splitter, what for? what is the ends of the splitter?

    Boss,

Lisod kaayo na itabang sa imong problema kay dili klaro ang info. You should at least specify the following:

    1) Naa ka modem? If naa, unsa nga brand & model?

    2) Kanang NetGear nimo, unsa na nga model?

    3) 3rd party or not, if kahibaw ka mo-setup sa imong ADSL router, ma-OK ra man siguro. You would specially need to know your account number & password for this.

    4) Kanang imong nga laptop/s, are those bundled free sa imong HomeBro subscription?

Or.. mas maayo nga picture'ran na nimo imong equipment diha nya post diri.

Kung dili ka kahatag og klaro nga detalye, mas maayo nga mo-contact ka og PLDT "contractor". Naay mga "contractor" nga makatabang nimo ani at a fee (no receipt). You better yet, you can just buy the PLDT wireless adsl modem from them.

    Good luck.

kung modem router combo imo modem nga gihatag sa ISP dapat imo na i set to bridge mode. para ang nat ma disable ug ang dhcp sad. kay ang routing capability dito na i-manage sa imo router. remember two routers are not advisable.
