What lenses do you have already?
Usual rule of thumb is invest more on lenses and just buy whatever camera fits your budget.
Camera bodies would only be good for about 2 years of heavy professional use.
i agree with @abortretryfail, it depends on the lenses you got. i'd invest more on the lenses. personally, i'd choose th 6d with lens, save up, and later buy a 5d mk4 once mugawas..hehe. but if you have nice set of lenses, i'd but the 5dmk3.
6D then invest sa lenses.. got 3 6D body na.. for me lifetime camera nana nako .. tanan akong kinahanglan naa na sa 6d
bdw im a wedding photog too![]()
If you don't have a 24-70 (I'm guessing that would be the 2.8L?) then go with the 6D with the 24-70.
Another option is go with the 24-70 and buy two 70D bodies so you have a backup.
Here's a review by a wedding photographer on the Canon EOS 70D... Canon 70D Wedding Photographer Review with images
How I wish cameras would last forever. I've been shooting digital in a company since 1999... then went freelance in 2002.
I've gone through 3 point'n'shoots, 1 hybrid, and currently on my 3rd dSLR.
In about your second to third year or so you'll find buttons are not so responsive, dials jump around, and your shutter button gets temperamental.
Which is why, in your costing, you should already factor in the cost of buying a new cam in 2 years.
With general cleaning a lens should last you a lifetime. Which is why we say invest more in lenses than on a camera body.
So buy a camera body but with the best lens that fits your budget. Don't worry so much about features. Most of the time the difference between one model and another is minimal. And in two years you'll probably be replacing it anyway.
The worst position to be in is to have an expensive camera with a whole lot of bells and whistles and be stuck with a lousy lens that brings the image quality down to sucky.
