For now, San Miguel Beer. But Alaska has done major upgrades in their line-up while Ginebra and Talk N' Text remained as contenders with the return of their prized stars. Next to San Miguel and Alaska, Welcoat too has done good tweaking in their line-ups. Joe DeVance and Nic Belasco will be valuable additions to the team but I doubt if Welcoat will be among the leagues top teams this season. Sta. Lucia and Air21 are exciting to watch too. Sta. Lucia got a high quality point guard in Ryan Reyes but the drawback is that the Realtors can't keep up with other teams in their other roster spots. Kelly Williams, Dennis Espino and Ryan Reyes are the bright spots for Sta. Lucia this season. While Air21 adds up more youth and athleticism in their team. The team that already boasts of relentless scorer Gary David and former UAAP stalwarts Arwind Santos and Niño Canaleta adds up more scoring prowess and power in JC Intal, Doug Kramer and Marvin Cruz. Air21 will be the most exciting team to watch this season. I'd expect them to have those 110 or 120 points nights once again.
Regarding sa trades and further deals, siguro Purefoods and Red Bull will be making their move soon. Hilom pa kaayo ning duha nga teams. But I also won't be surprised if San Miguel will give up some of it's players for some Atenistas.
My choice :
1. San Miguel
2. Talk n' Text
3. Ginebra
Those 3 teams have potent and proven line-ups, samot na ron with the return of players from the NT team.
But San Miguel will make the biggest difference coz of quality rookie additions in valuable positions. And in the recent import-laced conference they didn't depend much on their import(Galen Young) not like other teams, so there will only be some minor adjustments on the team's chemistry, intensity and plays. Plus San Miguel is a proven tough team during all-filipino conferences history wise.
mine is Air21
i am always a die hard SMB fan... but Air21 is a very competitive team for this coming season.. fresh legs..young and talented players...
Diehard Alaska fan here and I have reason to believe that they will be on their way to glory days very very soon
yeah alaska is back to their glory days, grabe tim cone wa gyud ni give-up pila na ka years sya nag coach sa alaska?
alaska mga left handed players.. mga walhon...
Rivalries could be born and reborn this season:
1.) The usual SMB-BGK, TNT-Alaska, and SMB-Alaska rivalries
2.) Top picks and big men Joe DeVance and Samigue Eman (provided that SMB will use him too often)
3.) Former SLR PG Alex Cabagnot and current SLR rookie guard Ryan Reyes
4.) Air21 connection of JC Intal and Niño Canaleta in the Slam Dunk Contest
this upcoming season is exciting.....hmmmm
This is exciting but I think no match gihapon c Intal kng Canaleta. Canaleta will rule the dunk contest for several more years, no one's near his athleticism, creativity and aerial glide when it comes to dunking. Kelly Williams is the closest, and maybe Gabe Norwood in the future??Originally Posted by yokam
Still doubt it...
well we can also look forward to the return of Japeth Aguilar from his US NCAA stintOriginally Posted by macro_shot
