if you'll compare both CPU on a per core to core and per clock to clock on an apple to apple basis, mas pas2x ang i7 Haswell.

sa imohang pangutana, imohang gi disable ang 2 cores sa i7 haswell then gi compared nimo sa i7 sandy bridge on all 4 active cores, mag depende na sa apps and games nimo. kun mo utilize og more than 2 cores, ang i7 SB (on 4 cores) will be faster... pero, kun ang apps/ games nimo, mo utilize lang ug 2 cores, mas kusog ang i7 haswell...

ug kani, ang akoang pangutana... nganong i-disable man nimo ang 2 cores sa i7 haswell? para ba ni maka OC ka'g taas?... bottom line, kun nag 4 core or more CPU ka on both AMD & Intel, then imohang i-disable kun mag gamit ka... "useless" lang na. gasto2x lang ka'g kwarta... this move doesn't make sense at all... gawas kun problematic ang 2 cores than need gyud ug disable para mo function ang PC... or, para maka kuha'g highest clock frequency during OC'ing... pang "number gathering" lang...

As far as I know i7 (1156, 1155 and 1150 socket) both have 4 cores and i7 (2011 socket) have 4 - 8 cores.

Pede diay ma 2 cores ang haswell (1150 socket) not haswell-e (2011 socket)?

^ yes bro, pwede nimo ma control ang active na physical cores sa CPU through the the BIOS. but, you need an upper chip set to do this. based sa akoang experience... i'm using mobos with H61, B75 and Z77 chip sets on the LGA 1155... since, and Z77 kay OC'ing chip set man, maka control ta sa active cores sa CPU through the BIOS. either 1, 2, 3 or 4 cores ang ma control na ma active. mobo ani kay Asrock Fatality Z77 professional. wala ko maka check sa isa na Z77 chip set based nko na mobo (MSI Z77MA-G45) kun the same ba sila'g function. wla man sya mag dagan ning MSI nko ron...

ug ang isa ka laptop (toshiba) core i7 2670qm 4 cores sandy dn 8gb ram

which one is good.. by d way ang 2 ka lappy kai 2nd hand of the same price around 25k php

^ ah i see... wala man gud ka mag mention na mobile application ni sya...

2 cores nang isa (i7-4510U) bro kay "Ultra" model man diay na sya... Ultra low power consumption CPU variant... 2 cores and 4 threads na sya. the same. then kanang isa (i7-2670QM... sandy bridge) kay 4 cores and 7 threads. mas dako ni sya'g power consumption sa duha na imohang gi mention na pili-anan...

check lang kun unsa ang importante nimo... lower power consumption (higher battery idle and use time) or brute power... ug unsa pud ang gamiton nimo na apps... ma need ba sya'g multi-core na more than 2 or, 2 cores will do...


by the way, akoang notebook diri kay Lenovo ThinkPad X230 i5-3210M (Ivy Bridge)... 2 cores and 4 threads ni sya... no gaming...
