How to Tell Whether You're Right Wing or Left Wing
Knowing whether you are a right wing or a left wing can be helpful in shaping your future perspective. Generally left wing guys are the people who strive for social equality whereas right wing people think of those things as natural. In this article you will discover who you are,so let's begin!
StepsTips and Warnings
1. Evaluate political positions.
Those on the left may support:
social welfare programs (food stamps, homeless shelters, unemployment benefits)
religious freedom and the separation of church and state
higher or more progressive taxes
environmentalism
trade protectionism
expansion of government into new areas
trade unions and industry regulations
social change or social justice
Those on the right may support:
reform of government-funded welfare programs
traditional or religious values, allowing those institutions to replace government services
lower or flatter taxation
international free-trade agreements
limiting the scope of government
reducing regulations on industry
2. Look at the language they use to describe themselves.
Leftists may describe themselves as: progressives, communists, socialists, or liberals
Rightists may describe themselves as conservatives, libertarians, laissez-faire capitalists, or classic liberals.
Both may call their opponents fascists. Fascism is considered a far-right ideology, although fascists often describe themselves as the "revolutionary center".
3. Check what all qualities you have and find out whether you are, left wing, or right wing, centrist, or some other.
Tips
Right wingers believe that governments are big and unwieldy and so should keep government involvement to a minimum. They believe that the force of law granted to government authority often contravenes an individual’s liberty and other human rights. Some examples of right wing people are Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.
Left wingers believe that governments are a force for social justice and change, and so should intervene in individual’s lives to ensure social justice is achieved. Some of examples of Left wing people are Tony Benn, Fidel Castro, Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.

An example is a person in disgust for a certain politician so he rant about it all day long on some message board but doesn't have the guts to confront this politician once he/she is in town.
Question for everyone here: how and why did you guys decided to align with a particular party or political spectrum? Are you guys active in your community like volunteering on a political campaign on top of making comments here on iSTORYA.net?
