    Default NBA Summer League

    2014 Orlando Summer League

The Orlando Magic will host the Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League at the team's practice court at the Amway Center from July 5-11, 2014. The 25-game, seven-day event will feature the Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers.

Each team will play five games over the seven-day event, with a championship day being played on the final day of the league. A point system will establish the standings leading up to the final day, with eight points awarded each game based on: four points for winning the game and one point for winning a quarter (in the event of a tied quarter, each team will receive 0.5 points). In the event of ties in seeding heading into championship day, three tiebreakers will be in place: 1) total point differential; 2) total points allowed; 3) coin flip.

Below is the complete schedule. Please note all times listed are Eastern.

    2014 Las Vegas Summer League

The New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks will tip off Samsung NBA Summer League on July 11 at 1 p.m. PT in the first of 67 games to be contested over the course of the 11-day event at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

The reigning summer league champion Golden State Warriors, who recently hired Steve Kerr as their head coach, will begin the quest to defend their title on opening day in a 5:30 p.m. PT tilt against the Charlotte Hornets at the Thomas & Mack Center. The Warriors won the inaugural NBA Summer League Championship in 2013, defeating the Phoenix Suns 91-77 in the title game.

For the second consecutive year, the event will feature a tournament-style schedule, culminating in the crowning of the Samsung NBA Summer League 2014 Champion on Monday, July 21. Each of the participating teams will play three games apiece between July 11 and 15 before being seeded in the tournament, which tips off on July 16 and runs through the Championship Game on July 21. Each team will play no fewer than five games during Samsung NBA Summer League 2014.

I think everybody is looking forward to this year's summer league. Who wouldn't? You'll be seeing the best batch of drafted players (since 2003) play.

Shabaz "Brick" Napier. I didn't understand LeBron's hype on this kid.

Marcus Smart was great too unlike the hype from some iStoryans here.

Due to Pressey breaking Napier's ankles, Napier resorts an attempt to elbow on Pressey but he didn't hit him. He got mad on that play.

But Pressey sucks running the team's play. But he out-jumped the 6'10 player on the jump ball play.

Watching miami vs boston game and here's my thought.

Shabazz Napier - an over-hyped player to the media due to lebron's pick on draft.. totally not NBA-ready and far from chalmers and cole playing skills.

Marcus Smart - could be nba ready but a total bust as what was expected to be the next rondo of celtics.

too bad Pierre Jackson injured his Achilles vs the Magic. He could have been the "answer" to Philadelphia's scoring woes last season!
