I need your info guys on whether to go with miniDV or MiniDVD format.

note: limited budget ($300 below or equivalent)

aside from dvd being able to be played on many dvd players right away after recording, everything else...

huh? why did you get a dvd dispite everyones suggestion to get minidv?
