Default need Diagnosis confirmaion / edit: SFX PSU options

HTPC suddenly wont power on. absolutely no power.

    setup:
    Q8300 on asrock g41c-gs
trendsonic case and power supply (slim, small power supply) 600w (kuno)
    gt 430
    4GB Kingston DDR2 ram 2x2
    3HDD, 2-3.5" , 1-2.5" laptop HDD

    tested AVR, AVR is okay
meaning nothing else connected to the avr got busted.
removed power switch lead from motherboard and plugged in ANOTHER power switch. no power still
removed and re attached 24-pin and CPU power connector. still no power.

    conclusion:
99% chance its the power supply (probably blown fuse if it has one)
1% chance its the mother board power lead (1% kay i have never seen these fail)

Daghan pa nag pwede rason why it failed to power on. pwede nga psu, pwede ram, pwede keyboard, pwede grounded casing, some motherboards won't work kon naay defective hdd og pwede sad nga motherboard mismo nimo. Kon wa ka nagdali, pwede ka maghuwat sa mga ka istoryan nato ngari for every solution og need nimo i test(trial and error= longer time). If nagdali ka to have your pc fixed and be used once again, i can help you. 09398290928 ako number kay di ko pirmi online.

motherboard is roughly 3 months old. cooling is very good even with stock cooler.

don't you know that even defective motherboards can make your fans spin? there are time a bad ram can't make fans spin and as you said, motuyok but no boot. if you want to confirm kon psu nimo ang problema, open it kay makita ra na nimo ang fuse if nibuto ba or wala ang sulod niya. Pwede sad paandaron ra nimo ang psu without connecting it to the motherboard. I short lang kay moandar na if wa pa mobuto ang fuse. If di pa gani, kanang mobo issue should be the last to test and confirm but it would take you some time to a few days while waiting for other replies. If ihatag nako every step diri mahurot atong oras.hehehehe

By the way, pwede sad gani na siya dili moandar if ang guba kay ang video card. Just test every solution given here and you'll learn some troubleshooting in time if wa lang ka gadali.

actually gi test nako lain PSU diri sa office nako, andar na. so ako gipa warranty ako PSU bisan generic ma warranty man 3 months raman sad..... all is good.

my reasons for suspecting the PSU was that it was the weakest link in my system.
    mobo was relatively new
mother board cooling is very good. (3 fans, 120mm to assist CPU HSF, 80mm exhaust from CPU, 60mm intake to assist GPU, excess pressuer going through hard drives to passive exhaust)
processor breaking would be a very long shot since i have very good airflow even for a slim casing.
RAMs were old but kept very cool. (this would have been my second suspect as one of the ram sticks was subjected to a bad ram slot a few months ago)
GPU was also 3 months old actively cooled assisted by 60mm fan
Hard drives were 99%, 100%, and 100% (about last week)

weakest link gyud ang generic PSU.

now since gi replace raman nila ang PSU im thinking of getting a better PSU since generic ra gyapon ang replacement.... murag sfx man cguro tawag ani nga size. what are other options aside from silverstone?
im not ready to shell serious money on a PSU for an HTPC.....

Last month i bought a silverstone for a client's build at G.I. for Php 2,500. 500w to siya og non modular but is still a good one if di ka mogasto og dako for your rig. You can have ACbel for below 2k. Thermaltake and Coolermaster has PSUs below Php 2,500(gamay na lang kulang to have the SS).

the last time i spent for a silverstone PSU it set me back 9K.

i know silverstone makes great PSU's but im not ready to shell that kind of money for a simple HTPC setup (it was my old rig whose motherboard got busted by Yolanda)
thing is SFX form factor PSU's are not as common as regualt ATX PSU's.
    who else sells SFX PSU's?
    this is my case
