Q: Any tips in creating an EAT experience?
Answer: We've noticed that eat experiences below $20 are more attractive to travelers, it's around P800 in our country but what usual host do is that they serve a maximum of 3 dishes for the guest. But of course, you may go beyond $20 but the price is ideal for travelers.
Q: Is taking a guest in a restaurant categorize as an EAT experience ?
Answer: No. the EAT experience must be when you cook the dishes yourself/family and serve it to the guest in your home. You may do a food tour though with your guests and categorize it as TOUR experience, bringing the guest to the best areas in your local.
Q: I don't have any photos yet, can I upload some later?
Answer: No worries, that's part of the verification of the ambassador.
Q: Do I need to pay any fees to get started?
Answer: No. But you need to invest when getting verified. You'll be able to use the site totally for free, but you must get verified before getting publish and get the benefit to have international guests, earn extra money and get a free marketing - that's a huge benefit. It's a lifetime investment.
Q: Why should I get verified?
Answer: WithLocals require that our hosts are verified by our ambassadors, in this way our guests will be at ease and ensure that you are identified as a real person and that you'll be able to deliver the experience that you offer and they want to to book from you.
In your side, you will also be able to verify us. That we're legit, because we have hired real people to meet you in your area.
Q: What is needed to get verified, is my Facebook account enough?
Answer: You must meet an ambassador in person, so that we could tell that you're real, not using any other name and is able to deliver the experience that you want to publish on our site. Your Facebook account can be connected to our site but this is not enough to verify that you're a real person.
Q: Do I need a tour guide licence?
Answer: No. That's what's great with WithLocals, anyone can entertain guests and that's why we require that hosts are verified to avoid abuse on our site.
Q: What is verified during the verification of the ambassador?
Answer: That you're real and identified in your name, verify the experience and take photos that will be publish on our site.
Q: How many ambassadors are there?
Answer: In the Philippines alone, we're about more than 10. In Cebu, we're just 3.
Q: Why I should get verified with you and not with other ambassadors?
Answer: Other than being the FIRST ambassador hired in the Philippines, I have an internet marketing background (which is my current work). In almost 4 years working as a marketer, I know what people needs, I know what customer wants, and I know I can totally help you. Plus, I'm a blogger. Other than sending and publishing your experience offered at the WithLocals site, I'll also help in marketing your experience through my blog by blogging the experience I have with you - that means exposure to over 700 subscribers on my blog and foreign readers.
