dvd camcorders vs. 3CCD miniDV camcorders

Wala man siguro category for other electronics noh? But anyways, admins if this doesn't belong here just feel free to move.

I want to buy a camcorder (not for professional use but just to capture special family events & vacations). But of course I'm opting for high-quality video resolution but for an affordable price, ako target is $600.

My online window-shopping has left me confused wether to buy a dvd camcorder or Panasonic PV-GS150, their second from their latest of their 3CCD models that are less than $1,000 (cheaper GS models, kudos to Panasonic daw), I think their latest is the GS250 medyo outside my range na. Anybody can help me decide asay mas nindot gyud within this price range??

Naay pros and cons kung asa imo pili'on, ako lang masulti sa pros and cons ani nila duha:

DVD:

pros
- All recordings directly written sa imo mini dvd disc
- barato ra ang dvd disks
- ma play dayon nimo anytime after taking the video sa imo
standard dvd player
- naa kay original recording which will last longer
cons
- size sa camera limited sa size sa smallest dvd disc
- kung masayop ug take, dili na pwede ma erase sa disc
- (no sure) disk is not reusable after one recording
- (not sure w/ quality wise)

miniDV
pros
- camera can be very small in size
- can reuse the miniDV tape multiple times
- you can do your some minimal editing sa imo videos sa
camera (sapaw sa unwated video)
cons
- dako chance ma accidental overwritten ang tapes
- mahal gamay ang prices sa miniDV tapes kay sa dvd discs
- chances kung dili maau pagka store ang tapes, ma molds and
cannot be recovered...

Pero kung ako papiliion, adto ko sa miniDV kay mas gamay gyud siya... pero i'm interested
napud sa memory flash based camera... kay mas gamay pa gyud like Sanyo C5 Digital Media

ne, go for a 3-CCD Mini-DV cam... although converting it to DVD might take some time... I think that is just a small tradeoff for better image quality. editing videos is indispensible. with DVD camcorders, it is almost useless to edit since you'll be editing highly compressed video... after you re-render it to DVD, quality will degrade further.

Hala BeoR, unsaon man ni pag convert, magpalit pa ko port kung anha naku sa Cebu first gamiton, or naa say mo offer ug ingon ani nga services?

n'gel, convert to dvd imu pasabot? daghan siguro istoryan makatabang nimu ana sa cebu oi. or kun naa ka pc sa cebu with firewire port and dvd writer, you can do it yourself. bring your firewire cable just in case.

Na wala gyud toy mga ingon ana pc namo sa cebu. Yup, kung naay maka convert to dvd pahimo lang ko, kay la naku budget to buy that port and wala sad diay mi dvd writer hehe.

heheh mao. dvd gyud not cd kay para ma retain ang high quality from minidv. you will be needing a firewire cable(if not included) kun ikaw na nya magconvert sa imung mga tapes. so palit nlng daan kay basn naa kay kaila nga naay pc w/ firewire port and writer pero walay cable.
